The Mountaineers (42-15) had a walk-off 8-7 win in the bottom of the ninth at Woodward against Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. Eastern improved to 5-2 against NEO in 2018.
Haven Hunter scored the walk off run from third base when Kolby Reck grounded out. The Mountaineers enjoyed two home runs on the day, one from Red Oak graduate Cody Muncy and the other from Chris Herb. Herb and Phillip Scott both had two RBIs each.
Cameron Highfill got the win in relief for Eastern, going a third of an inning. Starter Ryan Kouba went 6.2 innings, giving up five runs, all earned, striking out eight and walking three while allowing seven base knocks on the day.
Matthew Patton took the loss for the Golden Norsemen in 1.2 innings of relief.
