Eastern Defeats Southwestern Christian University 11-0

Christian McGowan threw a gem on Friday to lead the Mountaineers past Southwest Christian University 11-0 with the rarest of baseball moments: The Perfect Game.

Eastern got things started in the first inning. Wyatt Gray drove in one when he singled.

The Mountaineers put up five runs in the second inning. Eastern's big bats in the inning were led by triples by Austin Lambert and Tyler Johnson, a single by Gray, and a sacrifice fly by Easten James.

McGowan was on the mound for Mountaineers. He lasted five innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out 10 and walking zero.

The Mountaineers launched one home run on the day. Karson Coffee went deep in the third inning.

Eastern had 12 hits in the game. Connor Bastarache, Lambert, Coffee, and Gray each had multiple hits for the Mountaineers. Gray, Coffee, Lambert, and Bastarache each collected two hits to lead the Mountaineers. Eastern was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Gray made the most plays with ten.
