Three Pitchers Work Together In No-Hitter As Eastern Defeats Southwestern Christian (JV)

Eastern's three pitchers didn't allow a single hit, as the Mountaineers defeated Southwestern Christian (JV) 11-0 on Friday. John Miller induced a groundout from #15 to get the last out of the game.

The Mountaineers secured the victory thanks to ten runs in the second inning. Eastern put the pressure on, led by singles from Jarrett Gable, Joseph Cruz and Joyal Savage, a walk by Wyatt Gray, a sac fly by Keniel De Leon and a double by Nate Ackenhausen.

The Mountaineers got on the board in the first inning. Gray grounded out, scoring one run.

Eastern tallied ten runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught was led by Savage, De Leon, Gable, Gray, Cruz and Ackenhausen, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Brenton Beck earned the win for Eastern. Beck allowed zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out five. Miller and Chris Spry entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

#25 took the loss for Southwestern Christian (JV). The hurler allowed four hits and nine runs over one and one-third innings, striking out two.

Cruz led the Mountaineers with two hits in three at-bats. The team didn't commit a single error in the field. Ackenhausen had the most chances in the field with seven.

Southwestern Christian (JV) was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. #1 made the most plays with five.
