Early Lead For Pratt Community College Seals Fate For Mountaineers

The Mountaineers fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 5-3 loss to Pratt Community College on Friday. Pratt Community College took the lead on a double in the first inning.

Eastern lost despite out-hitting Pratt Community College seven to six.

In the first inning, Pratt Community College got their offense started when an error scored one run.

Ryan McFarland led things off on the pitcher's mound for Pratt Community College. The fireballer surrendered one run on five hits over five innings, walking one.

Brenton Beck started the game for Mountaineers. The pitcher lasted six innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out seven. Joyal Savage threw three innings out of the bullpen.

The Mountaineers hit one home run on the day. Seth Gray had a long ball in the eighth inning.

Eastern racked up seven hits in the game. Gray and Mac McCroskey each managed multiple hits for the Mountaineers. McCroskey and Gray each collected two hits to lead the team. McCroskey led the team with two stolen bases as they ran wild on the base paths with six stolen bases.
