Mountaineers Defeat Western Oklahoma State College, 4-2

The Mountaineers were victorious on Saturday to the tune of 4-2 over Western Oklahoma State College.

In the second inning, Eastern got its offense started when Bryce Matthews' sac fly scored one run for the Mountaineers.

In the bottom of the third inning, Eastern tied things up at two.

The Mountaineers pulled away for good with one run in the fifth inning. In the fifth Seth Gray hit a solo homer.

Andrew Walling was the winning pitcher for Mountaineers. The lefthander went six innings, allowing two runs on two hits, striking out nine and walking one. David Sandlin threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Sandlin recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Mountaineers.

Jose Torrealba was on the pitcher's mound for Western Oklahoma State College. The hurler surrendered two runs on two hits over four innings, striking out five and walking one. Caleb Isaacs, Juan Pimentel, Pablo Jacques, and Carter Campbell each entered the game as relief, each throwing one inning.

The Mountaineers launched one home run on the day. Gray had a four-bagger in the fifth inning.

Eastern collected seven hits. Gray, Wyatt Gray, and Easten James each had multiple hits for Mountaineers. James, Gray, and Gray all had two hits to lead the team.
