Bio

A native of Emporia, Kan., Miser joined the Mountaineers in 2022 from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan., where he spent the last three years as associate head coach. During his tenure, the Moundbuilders won two Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference championships, made five National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics national tournament appearances and advanced to the round of 16 in back-to-back seasons.

With Miser in control of the offense, Southwestern became a potent offensive team. The Moundbuilders lead the KCAC in scoring three times and were among the top two in four of the last five years. Southwestern was the top field goal percentage offense in the KCAC four of the last five seasons, as well as being top three in three-point percentage in four of the last five seasons.

This success was not just in the KCAC, as Miser had the Moundbuilders ranked in the top 20 nationally in field goal percentage, total three-point field goals made, scoring offense per game and total scoring offense in four of the last five seasons.

Miser has also helped Southwestern achieve excellence off the court and in the classroom. He has been a part of two National Champions of Character team awards, a National Association of Basketball Coaches Team Academic Excellence Award, and NAIA scholar team (GPA above 3.0) four times.

Miser earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees from Southwestern where he played basketball after beginning his collegiate career at Allen County Community College in Iola, Kan.
