Murray masters Eastern in second half

After an evenly played first half in which both teams took their chances, Murray State College found the answer to a tough Eastern Oklahoma State College defense in the form of two second-half goals. Eastern came out strong in the first half creating several chances in the first 20 minutes and earning the Mountaineers a pair of corner kicks and a couple of dangerous free-kick opportunities. Both teams closed the half strong, but could not get behind the defense for any meaningful opportunities.

In the second half, Murray finally broke through for a pair of goals to earn the victory. Eatern lost control of the game as they went behind and then rallied late to put pressure on Murray down the stretch.

The Mountaineers dropped to 1-8, 0-4 in the Region II Conference.
