Rose rips Eastern in second half

The Eastern Oklahoma State College men's soccer team traveled to Midwest City and came up empty handed once again. Both teams created chances in a back and forth first half. Finally, shortly before the break, Rose State College capitalized on a rebound in the box off a corner kick to go ahead 1-0. To Eastern's credit, they responded quickly on a goal by freshmen midfielder Jose Maria Ruarte off a rebounded shot from freshmen Tyler Pryor

The teams went into the half tied at 1-1 before Eastern lost concentration and control of the match in the second half, falling behind 3-1 on a counter attack off their own corner kick and a penalty kick. Rose State was able to add two goals en route to a 5-1 victory.  Eastern regained their composure to challenge with a flurry of shots late in the game, but nothing would go in. Marc-Antoine Huzen was strong in goal despite the score line or it might have been worse.

The Mountaineers dropped to 1-9, 0-5 in the Region II Conference.
