The Lady Mountaineers split a doubleheader Thursday in conference action.

Eastern Oklahoma State College opened the day with a 6-5 win and finished with 2-1 loss against Carl Albert State College at Sallisaw Sports Complex in NJCAA Region II action.

Brianna Urbano singled in a run to start the game for Eastern before Carl Albert answered with a run in the bottom of the first to tie at one run apiece.

Zoie Lunsford scored in the second before Jasmyn Davis hit an RBI double and later scored in the fourth for a 4-1 lead.

Davis added a two-run home run in the top of the sixth and Carl Albert answered with two runs in the bottom of the frame to pull back within 6-3.

Carl Albert added two runs in the bottom of the seventh before the Lady Mountaineers hung on for the win.

Davis finished 2-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs for Eastern, while Lunsford went 2-for-3 with two runs.

In the second game, Carl Albert inched ahead with one run apiece in the second and third innings.

Ashley Pletcher doubled in a run in the seventh, but it wasn't enough as Carl Albert escaped with the win.

Eastern was scheduled to play Mountain View on Friday for its sophomore night and will likely play Western Oklahoma State College in a play-in series next week for a spot in the NJCAA Region II conference tournament.
