Eastern Defeats Northern Oklahoma College-Enid 18-3

Eastern Oklahoma State College dominated Northern Oklahoma College-Enid on Saturday, 18-3. Summer Perkins would not be denied at the plate when runners were on base, driving in four runs on three hits. Perkins drove in runs on a double in the first, a home run in the second, a single in the fourth and a groundout in the fifth.

Eastern got things started in the first inning when Perkins doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

Eastern put up seven runs in the fourth inning. The Mountaineers put the pressure on, led by singles from Perkins, Kirstie Blackwood and Cailee Hendrick, a home run by Blackwood, single by Kaitlyn Smith and a double by Ashley Pletcher.

Chandler Spence was in the pitcher's circle for Eastern and picked up the win. She went two innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out two.

Eastern tallied three home runs on the day. Perkins had a four-bagger in the second inning. Blackwood put one out in both the fourth and fifth innings.

Eastern collected 19 hits on the day. Pletcher, Perkins, Blackwood, Smith, Sydney Green and Katelyn Hoover each collected multiple hits for Eastern Oklahoma State College Mountaineers Softball. Blackwood, Perkins, and Pletcher each collected three hits to lead the Mountaineers. Eastern was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Blackwood made the most plays with six.
