Eastern Falls To NOC-Tonkawa After Extra Innings

Eastern Softball lost the lead late in a 5-4 defeat to NOC-Tonkawa on Tuesday. The game was tied 4-4 with NOC-Tonkawa batting in the top of the 11th when Kyia Monahwee hit a solo homer.

In the first inning, NOC-Tonkawa got their offense started. Monahwee singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

Jenna Chassie toed the rubber for NOC-Tonkawa. She went five innings, allowing three runs on nine hits, striking out one and walking none.

Kally Henson led things off on the rubber for Eastern. She allowed four hits and three runs over one inning, striking out two. Sydney Green threw 10 innings in relief.

Eastern tallied three home runs on the day. Cailee Hendrick went deep in the fourth inning. Green went for the long ball in the fifth and seventh innings.

Eastern totaled 10 hits in the game. Green, Nene Meza and Ashley Pletcher each racked up multiple hits for the Lady Mountaineers. Green led Eastern with three hits in three at-bats.
