Fourth Inning Plays Key Role in Eastern Blow Out over National Park

  • Eastern scored five runs in the fourth on its way to a 9-1 victory over National Park on Monday. Katelyn HooverApril RiceSydney Green, and Cassidy Floyd all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
  • Eastern pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second, Nene Meza singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring two runs.
  • Eastern scored five runs in the fourth inning. The rally was led by a single by Hoover, a home run by Floyd, a groundout by Rice, and a double by Green.
  • Jewell Henry took the win for Eastern. She surrendered one run on six hits over five innings, striking out six and walking one.
  • Eastern tallied one home run on the day. Floyd had a dinger in the fourth inning.
  • Eastern racked up 12 hits. Taylor Blanscett and Meza all managed multiple hits for Eastern. Meza and Blanscett each had three hits to lead the team.
