Ashing Shines at the Plate in Big Win Over North Ark In Game 2

Karli Ashing collected six hits in six at-bats, as Eastern defeated North Ark 27-2 on Friday.  Ashing doubled in the first, doubled in the second, singled in the second, doubled in the third, singled in the fourth and singled in the fifth.

Eastern opened up scoring in the first inning with Nene Meza grounding out and scoring one.

Eastern then went on to put up 12 runs in the second inning.  Cambre Strange, Ashing, Meza, Gracie Woods and Karlie McCormick all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Marlee Whitling got the start for Eastern. She went five innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out four.

Eastern smacked four home runs on the day. Ananda Garrison went yard in the third and fourth innings, McCormick had a dinger in the second inning, then Woods put one out in the second inning.  Eastern tallied 28 hits in the game.  Ashing, Jaycee Hampton, Woods, Garrison, Clinton and McCormick each had multiple hits.
