Eastern Splits with NorthArk in Double Header but Wins Season Series 3-1

Game 1 Highlights (Loss 7-5)

NorthArk took the lead in the first inning on a passed ball followed by a 3 run shot and Eastern couldn't manage to pull ahead from there.

EOSC lost despite out-hitting NorthArk ten to eight.

NorthArk opened up scoring in the first inning, when #5 homered on a 3-2 count, scoring four runs.

Eastern tallied four runs in the second inning with the offense led by Baylee Highfill and Karli Ashing, all driving in runs in the inning.

#11 led things off on the rubber for NorthArk who went seven innings, allowing five runs on ten hits, striking out one and walking one.

Jewell Henry was in the circle for the Mountaineers. She went seven innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits and striking out eight.

EOSC launched one home run on the day- Ashing hit one out in the second inning.

Eastern racked up ten hits in the game. Nene Meza, Ashing, Ryleigh Clinton, and Gracie Woods each had multiple hits for EOSC. Woods, Clinton, Ashing, and Meza each collected two hits to lead the team. Eastern didn't commit a single error in the field. Karlie McCormick had the most chances in the field with eight.

 

Game 2 Highlights (Won 17-0)

Marlee Whitling shut down NorthArk, throwing a complete-game shutout in the 17-0 victory.  Gracie Woods led Eastern to victory by driving in four runs (3-4 in game 2)

In the first inning, the Mountaineers got their offense started when Ryleigh Clinton singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one.

EOSC then scored six in the fourth inning with Jaycee Hampton, Cambre Strange, and Nene Meza each contributing.

Whitling led things off on the rubber for Eastern. The righty went five innings, allowing zero runs on five hits and striking out six.

#7 led things off in the pitcher's circle for NorthArk. The hurler surrendered 11 runs on 12 hits over three innings. #28 threw one inning in relief.

Eastern tallied three home runs on the day. Clinton had a homer in the second inning, Hampton went yard fourth inning, Woods hit one out in the fourth inning.

Eastern tallied 18 total hits in game 2. Baylee Highfill, Meza, Woods, Karli Ashing, Clinton, Strange, and Hampton all collected multiple hits. Woods, Meza, and Highfill all had three hits to lead the charge. The Mountaineers tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Ashing led the way with two.
