Eastern Leaves Victorious After Challenging Back-And-Forth Game Against Rose State College

Eastern Oklahoma State College and Rose State College played an exciting back-and-forth game that saw EOSC come away with a 14-12 victory. The game was tied at 12 with the Mountaineers batting in the top of the eighth inning when an error scored the go-ahead run.

Bats blistered as Eastern collected 20 hits and Rose State tallied 12 in the high-scoring game.

Rose State captured the lead in the first inning when Blake Tubbs tripled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Rose State tied things up at 12. Treyce Tolbert doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

After Eastern scored three runs in the top of the third inning, Rose State answered with three of their own. EOSC scored when Brett Rexroad induced Kyle Simms to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored and Ridge Stephens singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run. RSC then answered when Kandon Bennett doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs and Jabes Turner drew a walk, scoring one run.

Eastern put up four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught by the Mountaineers was led by Kyle Simms and Tyler Johnson, both sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Rose State scored four runs in the second inning. RSC's big bats were led by Mack Thompson, Tubbs, and Joe Balak, all driving in runs in the inning.

Austin Warfel was credited with the victory for Eastern. He surrendered three runs on five hits over six innings, striking out eight and walking one.

Noah Chapin took the loss for Rose State. He surrendered two runs on four hits over 2 2-3 innings, striking out two and walking one.

Rexroad started the game for Rose State. He went 4 2-3 innings, allowing 12 runs on 15 hits and striking out two. Christian McGowan started the game for the Mountaineers. He allowed seven hits and nine runs over three innings.

Eastern's Simms, Gable and Johnson each smashed a home run.

Eastern saw the ball well today, racking up 20 hits in the game. Butler, Gable, Johnson, Dorr, Shepherd, Simms and Stephens each had a multi-hit game. Butler led the Mountaineers with four hits in five at-bats.
