Matthew Holzhammer earns NJCAA Region 2 Pitcher of the Week honors

Eastern Oklahoma State College sophomore Matthew Holzhammer has earned his first Pitcher of the Week award for the season. He was named the NJCAA Region 2 Pitcher of the Week for Week 5. He is the first Eastern baseball player to earn the distinction so far this season.

Holzhammer is a right-handed pitcher from Wister, Okla. In nine appearances, Holzhammer has pitched 37.1 innings with 36 strikeouts and a 3.86 earned-run average. He has allowed 30 hits, 16 earned runs, while only giving up 16 walks so far this season.
