Two Men's Basketball Players Earn Region 2 Awards

Two Eastern men's basketball players earned 2020-2021 NJCAA Region 2 Division I Awards.

Nigel John, a freshman center from Dallas, Texas, earned All-Freshman Team honors. An important contributor, he appeared in every game this season and averaged 9.5 points, .6 assists and 8.1 rebounds per game during the regular season. John averaged 52.9 percent from the field.

Alvin Miles, a freshman guard from Memphis, Tenn., also earned All-Freshman Team honors. An offensive catalyst, he appeared in every game this season and averaged 15.5 points, 6.7 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game during the regular season. Miles also shot 34.2 percent from beyond the arc and 85.1 percent from the free-throw line.

Eastern will look to finish the year with a Region 2 Tournament title beginning Wednesday, April 7, in the Stride Bank Center in Enid, Okla. Eastern will play its first game against NOC-Enid at 8 p.m.
