Makenzie Martin earns NJCAA Region 2 Pitcher of the Week honors

Eastern Oklahoma State College freshman Makenzie Martin has earned her first Pitcher of the Week award for the season. She was named the NJCAA Region 2 Pitcher of the Week for Week 5. She is the first Eastern softball player to earn the distinction so far this season.

Martin is a right-handed pitcher from Alma, Ark. In 15 appearances, Martin has pitched 82 innings with 62 strikeouts and a 2.73 earned-run average. She has allowed 63 hits, 39 runs, while only giving up 20 walks so far this season.
