Simmons named to the NJCAA 2020-2021 Honorable Mention All-America Team

An Eastern Women's Basketball player has been named to an NJCAA All-America team in back-to-back seasons.

Tijanae Simmons, a sophomore guard from Houston, Texas, was named to the 2020-2021 Honorable Mention All-America team by the NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee.

Simmons was named to the NJCAA Region 2 1st Team All-Region earlier this year and earned the NJCAA Region 2 Player of the Week from Feb. 1- Feb.7, 2021. She started every game this season and averaged 14 points, 1.9 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game during the regular season and postseason. Simmons also shot 30.8 percent from beyond the arc and 73.7 percent from the free-throw line.
