Crystal Ortiz Earns NJCAA Region 2 Player of the Week Honors

Eastern Oklahoma State College sophomore forward Crystal Ortiz has earned her first Player of the Week award for the season. She was named the NJCAA Region 2 Player of the Week for Jan. 17-23. She is the second Eastern women's basketball player to earn the distinction so far this season. This marks the fifth such award for the Lady Mountaineers, as well.

Ortiz is a sophomore forward from Sallisaw, Okla. She is currently averaging 14.6 points per game while shooting 41.5 percent from the field and 34.4 percent from beyond the arc. Ortiz is also shooting 78.9 percent from the free-throw line so far this season.
