Kaylynn Whelan Earns NJCAA Region 2 Player of the Week Honors

Eastern Oklahoma State College forward Kaylynn Whelan has earned her first Player of the Week award for the season. She was named the NJCAA Region 2 Player of the Week for Week 4. This marks the first time an Eastern women's basketball player has earned the distinction so far this season.

Whelan is a sophomore from Del City, Okla. She is currently averaging 10.9 points per game while shooting 50.6 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from beyond the arc through 9 games. Whelan is also shooting 66.7 percent from the free-throw line so far this season.
