Lady Mountaineers Defeat Neosho County 83-65

WILBURTON, Oklahoma — The Eastern Oklahoma State College women's basketball team earned an 83-65 victory over Neosho County Community College on Tuesday evening inside C.C. Dunlap Field House.


Sophomore guard Alanna Williams led the Lady Mountaineers with a dominant performance, posting a 25-point, 13-rebound double-double while shooting 10-of-16 from the field and 3-of-6 from three-point range. Williams also added four steals and three assists in the win.


Eastern set the tone early, taking a 42–32 lead at halftime and maintaining control throughout the game. The Lady Mountaineers closed strong with a 22–9 fourth quarter to secure the win.


Sophomore Parish Norfleet added 15 points and six rebounds, while Freshman McKayla Minor contributed nine points and seven boards. Freshman Livi McClain provided a spark off the bench, hitting three three-pointers for nine points in the first half.


As a team, Eastern shot 45.5 percent (30-of-66) from the field and connected on 12 three-pointers. The Lady Mountaineers also forced 11 steals and shared the ball effectively with 18 assists.


With the win, Eastern improves to 2-2 on the season. The Lady Mountaineers will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 15, when they host Friends University JV for Homecoming. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
